Today, I am going to preach the power of hydration to you, but not like you’ve ever heard it before because I am focusing strictly on its ability to stop anxiety attacks right in their tracks.

You know those mornings when you wake up and you just feel more anxious than usual; you have that jittery feeling, maybe even the shakes and you just feel off? You may also experience these feelings at random times throughout the day, and you’ve probably wondered what in the eff is going on.

Water.

Next time you have that exact same feeling, think about the last time you had a full glass of water. It probably wasn’t very recent because these heightened jittery, uncomfortable feelings of anxiety attacks are usually associated with dehydration.

I didn’t believe it either until I realized that I am always extremely dehydrated on those days which I usually notice in the morning because I’ve gone to bed dehydrated and became even more so overnight.

anxiety attacks, natural anxiety remedies, how to stop a panic attack

After coming across this information on how to stop a panic attack, or at least those increased jittery feelings, I instantly chugged a glass of water and was amazed that it literally curbed those enhanced anxious feelings.

It’s definitely one of the best natural anxiety remedies that I have ever come across, and I’ve been struggling with anxiety since I was 7; I’m now 25. (Eeesh! Quarter life crisis!)

Dehydration can cause anxiety attacks.

It is rare that this is the entire problem wholly, but it can certainly contribute to an increase in anxiety attacks. By drinking sufficient amounts of water, you’re decreasing and often avoiding other contributors that can trigger an attack. For example, when you are dehydrated, you’re more likely to feel:

  • Lightheadedness
  • Muscle fatigue and weakness
  • Headaches
  • Feeling faint
  • Increased heart rate

These all happen to be symptoms of an attack, so drinking water decreases and sometimes even eliminates these feelings from being brought on. Thus, you get smaller panic attacks or no anxiety at all! I would say that this is #1 on how to stop a panic attack.

The bonus is that it’s probably the best source of motivation to stay hydrated which is vital to thorough health, and not just anxiety. I also love these kinds of natural anxiety remedies because they’re no-brainers. Like, how did we not think of this previously?

Don’t ask. Just drink lots of water.

You’ll feel better overall, but those jittery shakes will also vanish or at the very least decrease!
